Research Report: Structured Data Boosts Featured Snippet Capture Rate by 43%

A new research report jointly released by content analytics company Conductor and Brighton SEO shows that structured data has a significant positive impact on Featured Snippet capture rates. The study analyzed data from 500,000 URLs across 250 verticals over a 12-month period. Key findings: articles that deployed FAQ Schema were 43% more likely to win a Featured Snippet than articles without Schema; tutorial-style articles using HowTo Schema ranked an average of 2.3 positions higher on step-based queries; and articles that added Author Schema were cited in AI Overviews on YMYL queries 2.1 times as often as ordinary articles. The study also found that combining multiple Schema types performed markedly better than using a single Schema—articles with combined Schema delivered 29% stronger overall SERP performance than those using a single Schema. The report recommends that SEO teams incorporate structured data deployment into their standard content publishing workflow.
