Google's Search Quality team recently reiterated its policy stance on AI-generated content. In an official blog post, Google made it clear that content quality is the core of its evaluation, not the way the content is produced. Whether written by a person or generated with AI assistance, content that delivers original, high-quality, and trustworthy value to users complies with Google's content policies; content that is low-quality, repetitive, and lacking original value may face ranking demotions regardless of whether it was created by a human or by AI. Google specifically highlighted two scenarios worth paying attention to: AI being used to mass-produce large volumes of semantically similar, low-quality content (a clear violation); and AI serving as a writing aid that improves content production efficiency on top of human review and added value (acceptable within reason). This clarification offers SEO content teams clear guidance: AI tools can be used, but there must be human review, original value-add, and quality assurance built into the process.
